Newbuilding surveys are carried out at the yard throughout the whole construction period to the extent found necessary by the local surveyor. The main purpose for this is to verify that the vessel is being built in accordance with approved drawings.

The intention of the survey is to monitor the yards own quality system, it is not a replacement for this.

The results of the surveys form the basis for issuing class and statutory certificates.
