Material certification usually requires Approval of manufacturer. Unless otherwise agreed, certification is based on testing of the material, performed under the attention of a DNV surveyor.

DNV also offers certification of materials with reference to other standards than DNV rules, when this is required by the customer or otherwise agreed with DNV.

If you want your material to be certified by DNV, you should:

  • Familiarise yourself with the relevant DNV rules.
  • Make sure that material quality complies to rule requirements.
  • Call nearest DNV office to arrange verification of compliance.
